Welcome to our website, MONASTERY OF OUR LADY OF LA VANG. We are nuns of the Cistercian Order. We are the Annex House of the Monastery of Our Lady of Phuoc Hai, Vung Tau, Vietnam. In the United States, we belong to the Diocese of Stockton. As followers of the Cistercian Charism, we work to create a place of silence and serenity so that we can live our life of praying for the holiness of ourselves and the whole world.  Our lives are guided by the Rule of Saint Benedict and we live the Cistercian tradition of our Holy Father Founders: Robert, Albert and Stephen.  We invite you to join our daily prayer with the purest heart, to seek God and to foretaste the eternity while living here on this earth.  On the 24th of November 2016, our superior, Sister Timothy requested the Most Reverend Bishop Stephen E. Blaire to establish a Cistercian Community in the Diocese of Stockton named MONASTERY OF OUR LADY OF LA VANG . 
On the 17th of January 2017, Bishop Stephen  approved this request and sent us the welcome letter below.
We thank God and we continue to be blessed by his loving providence.
We also appreciate all support from benefactors and friends.
